Greek EU agriculture expert in Canberra

first_imgTassos Haniotis – a senior official of the European Commission – will be in Canberra next week to make two presentations on the EU’s reformed Common Agriculture Policy (CAP).Mr Haniotis will be speaking at the ABARES Outlook 2014 conference – Australia’s premier forum for public and private sector agricultural decision-makers – which takes place on March 4-5, and presenting a free public lecture at the ANU Centre for European Studies, 1 Liversidge Street, Canberra, at 6.00 pm on March 6.His presentations will set out the main changes to the architecture of the CAP including policy changes introduced from 2013 which set out to ‘green’ the CAP. Mr Haniotis is Director, Economic Analysis, Perspectives and Evaluations at the European Commission and holds PhD and MS degrees in Agricultural Economics from the University of Georgia, USA, and a BA in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
