Applications for city of Vancouver permits going digital

first_imgThe city of Vancouver will soon require all applications for permits to be submitted electronically, city officials said Thursday.Over the next seven months, types of permits will be moved to online-only submissions. Starting June 1, all preapplications will have to be online via www.cityofvancouver.us/ePlans.The city said the move will cut down on paper printing, as well as physical trips for citizens and city staff. It might also speed up the plan-review process.“We’re looking forward to continuing to find ways to improve and simplify our plan review process for our customers to save them time and money,” said Jason Nortz, manager of the Development Review Division. The city’s ePlans platform currently allows people to submit development applications, commercial and residential building permits, grading permits, among others. People can check their submission’s status online at any time.last_img
