first_imgOn September 29th, the fourth-annual Brooklyn Comes Alive will return to Brooklyn’s beloved Williamsburg neighborhood—taking over Brooklyn Bowl, Music Hall of Williamsburg and Rough Trade—for an all-day music marathon, including a collaborative set featuring Cory Henry along with Scott Metzger, MonoNeon, Nikki Glaspie, and Skerik.  Inspired by the vibrant musical communities of Brooklyn and New Orleans, Brooklyn Comes Alive brings together more than 50 artists, allowing them to carry out passion projects, play with their musical heroes, and collaborate in never-before-seen formations. For more information, ticketing, and to see the full list of performers scheduled for Brooklyn Comes Alive 2018, head to the festival’s website here. Cory Henry has quickly become a force to be reckoned with. A two-time Grammy Award winner with Snarky Puppy, the immensely talented fan-favorite keyboardist has made his mark on the jazz and funk world, becoming a darling of both genres in addition to a full-blown international sensation. With his solo project, Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles, Henry has continued to wow audiences and critics alike, solidifying himself as one of the standout musicians of the past decade and gaining fame in his own right as a remarkable singer and songwriter as well.Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles recently performed at the iconic Telluride Jazz Festival, playing the fan-favorite mountain-town festival earlier in the summer. While in town for Telluride Jazz, Cory Henry and company made the time to record a special performance for the online YouTube series, Jam In The Van, including takes on “Takes All Time”, “Trade It All”, and “In the Water”, all off the group’s recently released EP, Art Of Love.
