ICC jokingly ranks all Test batsmen No.1 after American rapper’s tweet

first_imgInternational Cricket Council jokingly gave the number one Test ranking to all batsmen after American rapper Kanye West wrote on social media that “no one is better than anyone”.ICC’s Twitter account channelled their creative self once again as they photoshopped the photo of the ICC Test batsmen rankings and put first rank in front of everybody’s names. The top 10 of the Test batsmen rankings is completed by South Africa’s Dean Elgar who holds the 10th spot. However in the ICC tweet, he had the same ranking as Steve Smith on top and Virat Kohli on second.ICC, along with a photograph of Kanye West’s tweet, posted the photoshopped image and captioned it, “If you say so yeezy”.If you say so yeezy ¯\_()_/¯ pic.twitter.com/y4P1BVmTycICC (@ICC) August 14, 2018Two days ago, Kohli lost his number one Test ranking for batsmen to Steve Smith after scoring only 23 and 17 in India’s embarrassing defeat to England at Lord’s in the second Test on Sunday.Kohli had taken the top spot last week after smashing 149 and 51 in the first Test of the five-match series at Edgbaston.Kohli slipped back to the second spot on Monday with 919 points after low scores at Lord’s cost him 15 points.Kohli had become the first Indian batsman to reach the No.1 Test ranking for batsmen since Sachin Tendulkar in 2011.Former Australia skipper Steve Smith, who is currently serving a one-year ban over his role in the ball-tampering scandal, moved back to the top of rankings with 929 points.advertisementThis is not the first time that ICC’s Twitter account has channelled its creatively. The last time they tried some creativity, it did not go down too well with the Indian cricket fans. After England defeated India by 31 runs to go 1-0 up in the five-match series, ICC posted a picture on Twitter captioning, “Root out” along with a fisted hand sign and a microphone. In the picture, Virat Kohli and Joe Root can be seen standing together and having a discussion. But ICC added a mic by Photoshop, one that appears to be falling from Root’s right hand. The mic drop gesture by Kohli on the first day of the Test was a fallout of Root’s own similar celebration after his second successive hundreds helped England win the three-match ODI series.last_img
